2024 Mother's Day Event

 

 

Come celebrate Mother’s and all the Powerful Women in our lives with CEM and Devon Dyno. Devon Dyno will be onsite, Car Show and Shine with prizes will be running for most of the day, as well as vendor booths and activities for the whole family throughout the day!

Location:   Canadian Energy Museum: 50339 Highway 60 South, Leduc County, AB, T9G 0B2

Hosted by the Canadian Energy Museum and Devon Dyno.

Admissions:

Individual Pass: $5.00/ person

Mothers with their children are FREE

Children under 12 are FREE

​

All funds raised at the “Girl Power” Mother’s Day Event will be donated to the continual operation of the Canadian Energy Museum.

Event Activities

​

Mother’s Day Tea $2.00

10:00 am - NOON

​

Grab a warm cup of tea, hot chocolate, or cider and pair it with a scone! Peruse the Museum galleries or sit down and chat with a woman in your life.

​

Devon Dyno $15.00 per run

10:00 am - 5:00 pm

​

Devon Dyno is owned and operated by a long time car enthusiast, mechanic, and Devon area resident John K. Bring your ride out and You will get 3 runs on the dyno. We will make sure your car, truck, motorbike, quad, etc. is securely and safely tested. Peak horsepower, top speed, max rpm, and power band graph, plus other stats are provided in a printout for each custom dyno run. The dyno provides you the opportunity to try before you hit the track, or test your set-up for further tuning, or just to get an idea of where you are at for HP, speed etc. You will get 3 runs on the dyno, and we will make sure your car, truck, motorbike, quad, etc. is securely and safely tested.

Car Show and Shine $20.00 per entry

3:00 pm  trophy presentation

Calling all antique, classic, and custom car owners and lovers. Register your car to be included in our Car Show and secure your VIP parking spot by emailing director@canadianenergymuseum.ca. Multiple judging categories; including people’s choice and best late model. Trophies, prizes, and giveaways to be won! More details to come.

Vendor and Activity Booths

10:00 am- 4:00 pm

​

The Vendor Booths will include local small businesses and organizations showcasing their products and services available to all general admission guests! From handmade goods, automotive tools and supplies, toys and games, to food and crafts, the vendor booths will include something for everyone in your party.

​

Yard games, picnic tables, museum galleries, and activity tables will be available all day.

​

Silent Auction

10:00 am-4:00 pm

​

The Silent Auction will highlight items donated by local businesses at a variety of price points for guests to bid on throughout the event. We are looking to local businesses and corporate sponsors to help provide valuable gifts for our silent auction. Our goal is to represent women-owned businesses in the auction as much as possible. To donate to the Silent Auction, please contact Danni at director@canadianenergymuseum.ca.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS1

Hosting events like Girl Power at the Canadian Energy Museum is only possible with the help of volunteers. Volunteering at Girl Power includes:

  • General admission for each volunteer; including access to vendor booths and activities, the Car Show, and the Museum

  • Flexible volunteering shifts and tasks 

  • Being meaningfully involved in your community
